Membership
Membership is open to all serving and retired (due to age or illness) police officers and staff and partners of serving police officers and staff, who accept and support the aims and objectives of the Association, regardless of age, faith, race, disability, gender or sexual orientation. Voting rights apply.
Volunteer Police Cadets are only eligible for membership during their engagement with the Police Service.
The Executive Committee may admit Honorary membership to the Association as appropriate and invite other individuals to become ‘Friends of the JPA’. Voting rights do not apply for Honorary members or ‘Friends of the JPA’.
Membership is normally £20 per annum, payable 1st April annually. However following October 2023’s events, we have agreed this will only be a voluntary contribution during 2024 – please join us, even if you would rather not contribute – we won’t ask any questions about it!
Free membership will always be available to all new members of the Police Service who apply to join the JPA within their first 12 months of service, or until the next annual renewal membership date, being 1st April.
No potential member would be turned away on the basis of inability to pay – please contact the JPA Executive direct.
To apply for membership please complete our membership form. You may pay either by cheque (details on the membership form), or alternatively you can return us a completed copy of the bankers mandate form, which instructs your bank to pay your fees by standing order annually. All forms can be found on our JPA documents page.
Confidentiality
No personal data of members to the Association will be disclosed to any other persons other than the Executive Committee, or used for any other purpose than official business or for the purpose where we do not have legal discretion.
Constitution
The Jewish Police Association operates according to its Constitution. This, along with other documents and publications can be found on our documents page.
